Australian Salmon

Richey Fishing has been in the salmon fishery since 1957 and is the major operator in Tasmania, normally accounting for around 80% of the state catch. The fishery is strictly controlled through license numbers and Richey Fishing has two of the seven licenses to fish. The Richey Fishing Australian salmon fishery has been certified as sustainable under the EPBC Act, currently the only certified Australian salmon in the country.

Scallops

Richey Fishing holds significant scallop quota in the Commonwealth, Tasmanian and Victorian scallop fisheries and has been operating in these fisheries since 1968. Dell Richey II is currently the only export registered vessel in these fisheries and is able to freeze at sea and export directly from the vessel.

Squid

Richey Fishing were the first in Australia to use a fully computerised squid jigging system imported from Japan in 1997. These messy little cephalopods are caught at night using attraction lamps and are normally frozen at sea for domestic and export markets.
